Federal Sentencing laws treat possession of drugs more severely than posession of a nuclear bomb. See
the following -
Federal Sentencing Guidelines Manual, U.S. Sentencing Commission Sec 2M 6.1 Unlawful acquisition, alteration, use, transfer, or possession of nuclear material, weapons, or facilities.........Base offense level: 30 (p.228)"
"Sec. 2D1.1 (p.103-104) Possession of Between 1-3 kg of heroin, or between 5-15 kg of Cocaine or Between 50-150 Grams of cocaine base (crack).........Base offense level: 32 (p. 104)
Note the difference between levels of cocaine and crack. If you are black, you may know about this already. A 2 piece Reese Peanut Butter cup weighs 34 grams, so two of them filled with crack equals an unspecified number of atomic bombs. Now, how long will you go away for your 51 grams ofcrack or your atom bomb? In the federal system, 121-151 months (11-12 years) for a first offender. If you have priors you can get up to 210-262 months (17.5-23 years). If you have MORE drugs on you, you can go down for 360 months to life. Most drug arrests are not federal arrests but state arrests where in many cases the sentences are harsher. Many states have "truth in sentencing" laws which have abolished parole so what you're sentenced to, you do. You can often get 6 months off your time for good behavior. Good behavior is not fighting back when you are bashed, murdered, or gang raped.
In addition, when it comes to inchoate crimes (attempt, conspiracy, etc) and sentencing you can be charged, found guilty, and sentenced on the basis of uncorroborated testimony of prisoners, inadmissable, illegally obtained, or irrelevant evidence, or a "conspiracy" in which no affirmative step was made by any participant. You can go down for inchoate crimes where there are no drugs or money found or introduced as evidence.

Finally Bush takes on a country his own size!
Look out Nauru!
"'This is perhaps the most muscular financial tool in the Patriot Act toolbox,' an administration official
said. 'This will send the message to the international financial community that they need to get their act
together.'"
The patriot act toolbox is a gun rack filled with guns with our names on them. And they LOVE "Sending the
message". That's a real big thing with this administration. "Sending a message" to kids, about drugs, to terrorists, about drugs, or kids or patriots or parrots or Nauru or something I can't remember where are my pills somebody turn OFF that TV.....
"The Treasury Department is imposing different sanctions on the two nations, with Nauru facing much tougher action. An official said that when the special measure is fully in place, it "will formally cut Nauru off from the U.S. financial sector."
Actually the Nauruans have bigger problems.
